Crofton crowded and crime on the rise

My husband and I moved to Crofton in 2001 and loved it for years. Recently, there has been an influx of traffic, probably due to the new shopping centers and homes going up, and an increase in crime. Our property taxes are also skyrocketing. Just got out bill and it's close to $4,000. I'm retiring in October and we're looking to get out of Crofton and the state altogether.

Agree with you completely Susan. I moved to Crofton in 1991 and also loved it then. The difference between then and now is night and day. The traffic situation is a disaster, with the ridiculous, uncontrolled building of housing, shopping centers and everything else. Rt. 3 is going to end up being one very long strip mall. Among the urban sprawl, there are within 3 miles, two McDonald's, two Chik-fil-a's, and two Royal Farms. Just ridiculous. I am also looking forward to finally leaving the area and the state as well.

The taxes are going up to make us pay for the problems being re-settled in our neighborhood!Maryland is quickly becoming an east coast california, the city is lost and the better communities surrounding the area are going to be the next.
